Why hire a "certified" radon contractor?

The EPA recommends that only certified radon testing and mitigation contractors be used by consumers.  First of all, certified contractors have completed extensive education and technical skill requirements and have passed national level tests for certification.

There are only two organizations recognized by the EPA to certify radon contractors.  They are the American Association of Radon Scientists and Technologists-National Radon Proficiency Program (AARST-NRPP) and the National Radon Safety Board.

Certification also guarantees that contractors’ testing equipment is re-calibrated every year to insure accuracy.

Without proper equipment or commitment to EPA protocol, families can be put at risk for radon exposure.

Non-certified contractors frequently make mistakes in system design and installation because they do not understand the value and importance of EPA and AARST protocols.

Certified contractors also are required to have continuing education credits for certification renewal every two years which keeps us up to date on the latest information in the radon industry.

AARST offers a directory of certified contractors:

ResCom Radon Solutions is fully certified and active members of AARST in which members must adhere to the highest standard of excellence/ethical performance of radon measurement and mitigation keeping members informed as well as consumers to help save lives everyday.
